Voices to Action: Building Community and Driving Change

The Visiting Nurse Association Health Group

Lex is hosting a Day of Learning, Celebration, and Community Building for The Visiting Nurse Association Health Group on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026.

As part of our continued commitment to inclusion, belonging, and psychological safety, we are hosting a Voices to Action: Building Community and Driving Change Day focused on uplifting our LGBTQIA+ employees, strengthening allyship, and creating pathways for meaningful dialogue and change.

We’re excited to welcome back Lex Horwitz (he/they),a nationally recognized educator and advocate known for creating affirming spaces for queer and trans communities. Over the course of the day, we will create space for connection, visibility, affirmation, and leadership engagement, while also setting the stage for deeper listening and shared ownership of progress later this year.

Looking Ahead: Listening Table Conversations – August

The April events serve as a bridge to deeper listening later this year. In August, we will host Listening Table Conversations, creating structured, facilitated spaces where LGBTQIA+ employees can share the stories, experiences, and insights they want leadership to hear about their workplace experience, supporting leaders and employees alike in shaping the process together.

These conversations are about amplifying voices, strengthening community, and reinforcing shared ownership, recognizing that we are all changemakers, and that leadership plays a critical role in turning listening into action.

Why This Matters

Affirmation builds belonging. Listening builds trust. Agency builds change.
This day, and the conversations that follow, reflect our commitment to moving beyond awareness toward action, partnership, and shared responsibility.

We’re proud to host a day of meaningful and energizing events created with and for LGBTQIA+ members of our VNA family.

Together, we’ll explore:

• Resilience strategies for mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being

• Identity as a source of strength

• Staying grounded in uncertain or hostile environments

• The role of community in sustaining and protecting us

We’re excited to welcome back Lex Horwitz (he/him), a nationally recognized educator and advocate known for creating affirming spaces for queer and trans communities. Lex brings powerful energy, personal storytelling, and practical strategies to help organizations like ours grow in clarity, connection, and confidence.

Let’s come together to reflect, grow, and support one another.

This event is a private event for VNA.
