Life as a Transgender Athlete: Lex Horwitz

Lex Horwitz (they/them) presented their keynote, Life as a Transgender Athlete, virtually for Bowdoin College on April 7th, 2022. They shared their experience as a varsity collegiate athlete who came to their queer and trans identities while competing on the women’s squash team, and their journey to becoming a member of the men’s squash team—the team that most closely aligns with their gender expansive gender identity. They addressed some of the challenges and triumphs, and touched on ways in which everyone can be an effective ally in action to transgender and gender diverse athletes. The event concluded with a Q&A.
