Life as a Transgender Athlete in the NESCAC with Lex Horwitz
Lex Horwitz (they/them) brought a full day of programming to Amherst College. The day concluded with their keynote followed by a Q & A.
The programming included:
Athletic Scenarios Workshop with the Athletic Department: Lunch conversation and educational program with the athletic department (including talking through scenarios and best practices within athletics)
Open Office Hours for student-athletes, athletic department staff, and campus (individual and small group conversations)
Dinner with the Queer Athletes Alliance (QAA) and athletic administrators
Keynote address, 'Life as a Transgender Athlete with Lex Horwitz', for all of campus (sharing their personal journey of coming to their queer and trans identities while at Bowdoin College competing on the squash team, and the challenges and triumphs of what it was like to switch from the Women's to the Men's Team, followed by a Q & A)
