The Center for Family Services Pride Lunch & Learn

Creating Affirming Spaces, LGBTQ+ History, and Q & A

Lex Horwitz (they/them) will host the Center for Family Services Pride Lunch & Learn on June 8th. This event is closed to the public.

Event Description

Celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month with Center For Family Services! The Intercultural Competency Committee is excited to invite you to our annual LGBTQ+ Pride Month Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, June 8 from 12pm to 1:15pm. During this event, you will learn about LGBTQ+ history as well as ways to create safe and affirming spaces for the LGBTQ+ community in your personal and professional life.

This Lunch and Learn will be led by Lex Horwitz, a nationally recognized and award winning LGBTQ+ Educator, Activist, Consultant, Public Speaker, and Researcher based out of Philadelphia and New York City. Lex’s work focuses on educating allies and members of the queer community on LGBTQ+ identities, topics, and issues, and their research is centered on gender affirming health care. Through their advocacy and education, Lex provides a moderated, conducive safe space for all people to engage in critical conversation about gender, sexuality, and community.

During this Lunch and Learn, Lex will be answering questions submitted by staff. Ask Lex anything like,
How can I come out at work?
What does it mean to be nonbinary?
What does gender neutral bathroom access mean?

Follow my journey.
